Thank you to everyone who came out to the Upper Providence Planning Commission meeting on August 21st.
To recap, during the meeting we presented the concept plan for Cypress Place at Royersford and answered questions from Planning Commission members and from the public. Many commenters confirmed that there is a need for housing that costs less than many homes and apartments in the Township. We also heard that the intersection of Vaughn Road and South Lewis Road is very congested and hard to navigate, particularly at the beginning and end of the school day. Some are concerned that adding 40+ units of multifamily housing would be too much for this site, and that there is additional work to do to determine how best to accommodate two distinct uses on one site.
It was great to see such a strong turnout. It is clear that Upper Providence residents feel a strong attachment to their neighbors and community and want what they see is best for it.
Please continue to share your feedback and questions and look for our update on Next Steps soon. Thanks!
